Travelling with your Pet?

Animals are welcome on board the Caledonian Sleeper. Assistance dogs can travel free of charge - and if you have a room and want to bring a domestic pet with you, we charge £30 on top of your train ticket price. That cost pays for a deep clean of the room, which reassures other guests - especially those with allergies.

Add one pet to your booking within the journey planner to purchase.

Note if you are travelling in a seat, or a standard room as a solo passenger you are not permitted to take a pet.

Travelling with your Bicycle?

Subject to availability on board, we can transport bikes free of charge and we are able to carry road and mountain bikes (one bike per guest). Please book your bike by, at least noon the day before you travel, through or by calling our Guest Service Centre. We guarantee the safe arrival of bikes with a reservation, booked by noon the day before travel. For group bookings (nine or more guests travelling) who want to book together, you must call the Guest Service Centre at the time you book to agree arrangements for transporting your bikes.

All Guests who book bikes on our Fort William service are required to move these to a new coach during a changeover of coaches at Edinburgh Waverley.

Please note that there are a maximum 3 bike spaces on the Inverness to London Euston service, please contact the Guest Service Centre for more information.

Road Courier

In times of high demand your bike may need to be transported by road courier and you may need to drop it off at your departure station up to four hours before you travel to allow the courier time to transport your bike. If your bike does have to travel by road courier, the Guest Service Centre will tell you this before your journey.

Please note that for journeys taking place after 28 October 2018, we will no longer be accepting reservations for bikes which require transportation by road courier. For any journeys after this date, we will only accept reservations for bikes if we have space on board the service. Any reservations already made will be honoured.

To ensure that your bike can arrive on time at your arrival stations, we require to pick your bike in advance of departure of the Caledonian Sleeper. Agreed pick up and drop off times are shown in Figure 1.
