London Euston Station Changes - HS2

Once complete, HS2 will more than double the number of seats out of Euston station during peak hours and free up space on the west coast mainline for more local and long distance commuter services.

HS2 will deliver eleven new 400m long platforms, a new concourse and improved connections to Euston and Euston Square Underground stations. The HS2 design teams are also looking at the opportunity to create a new northerly entrance facing Camden Town as well as new east-west links across the whole station site.

In the long term, the arrival of HS2 is expected to unlock the opportunity for new jobs and homes around the station site, as well as shops, cafes and better public spaces.

During construction, the HS2 team are working closely with Network Rail, the train operating companies and TfL to minimise disruption to passengers. For the latest travel information, visit National Rail Enquiries.

Taxi rank changes

London Euston station taxi rank is relocating to Euston Square Gardens from the 6 January 2019.

The taxi rank at Euston station is relocating just outside of the station at Euston Square Gardens while construction of HS2 Euston is underway.

This new location will open up the area for pedestrians, taxi drivers, cyclists and station users requiring mobility assistance. This new rank will offer more space and easier level access to the new rank from the station concourse than the current underground rank – which needs to be accessed via lifts, stairs or an escalator.

Relocation of the taxi rank to this new site at Euston Square West Gardens is necessary to allow the new HS2 station hub to be built and to enable other Euston station improvements to continue. This new location has been carefully considered to help manage the flow of traffic and to be as convenient as possible for passengers, other station users, residents and taxi companies
