Caledonian Sleeper Launches Dreamlike Soundscape for World Sleep Day
13 March 2026
We're helping the nation drift off this World Sleep Day, creating a 10-hour ASMR-inspired Sleepscape that recreates the gentle, dreamlike experience of travelling onboard the globally renowned overnight journey which can be enjoyed on Spotify.
Charting the Caledonian Sleeper’s route from the serene Scottish Highlands, through a tranquil twilight descent, to the bustling sounds of a vibrant city, this immersive track brings the magic of the iconic train directly into people’s homes.
Research shows that over half of UK adults are not getting enough sleep each night (71%) with a huge 9 in 10 Brits admitting they struggle to drift off. To help tackle those restless nights, the Sleeper is offering a calming escape, harnessing its natural rhythm as an ambient aid to rest and relaxation. From distant whistles to soft winds and the gentle hum of the wheels below, listeners can close their eyes and get their sleep back on track.
The recording was captured on board a Caledonian Sleeper service from Inverness to London and carefully edited into an extended audio experience.
Whether its ambient soundscapes or ASMR inspired audio, sleep aiding music has clocked up billions of listens online, as people search for soothing sounds to lull them into a slumber.
Steven Marshall, Caledonian Sleeper’s Head of Sales & Marketing said: “World Sleep Day is the perfect moment to celebrate what makes our service so special. The unique ability to fall asleep in one city and wake up in another, feeling refreshed and restored.
“Guests who travel with us get to fall asleep in style thanks to luxurious touches made in Scotland and the soothing sounds of the train.
“Our handcrafted mattresses from Glencraft, help our guests drift off, with the Aberdeen company not only supplying our trains, but also holding the Royal Warrant, helping to furnish Royal residences across the UK.
“While nothing quite compares to the full Caledonian Sleeper experience, we’re excited that people can now enjoy a small taste of that calming atmosphere at home, through this track.”
The soundscape brings almost 10 hours of serene train audio, divided into chapters that tell the story of the Caledonian Sleeper from London to Inverness. It will be released on Spotify, YouTube and other streaming services for World Sleep Day, Friday 13th March.
