Aberdeen

Often referred to as the “Granite City” due to its many buildings constructed from locally quarried granite, Aberdeen is a city that sparkles in the sun.

Located in the northeast of Scotland, it is the go-to spot in the region for art, theatre, music and festivals. From the Aberdeen International Youth Festival and the Aberdeen Jazz Festival there’s plenty to see and hear, while TechFest is north-east Scotland’s celebration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Take a leisurely walk along Aberdeen beach and Queen’s Links, with its golden sands and panoramic views of the North Sea, you might even spot a dolphin!

Wander through the old cobbled streets of Old Aberdeen, where you can explore historic buildings such as St Machar’s Cathedral, King’s College, and the Powis Gatehouse, dating back centuries.

Aberdeen is the ideal stop to visit Balmoral, the private residence of the British Royal Family, which is open from April until July.
