Brass Band to Bring Festive Cheer to Caledonian Sleeper Published: Monday, 12 December 2016 16:18

As Christmas fast approach, Caledonian Sleeper has invited one of Aberdeen’s most heart-warming musical ensembles to bring festive cheer to those travelling on board.

Taking place on Wednesday 14 December, some of the UK’s best-loved Christmas tunes will be performed by one of Scotland’s oldest bands, the Granite City Brass Band, which will be welcoming guests with a dazzling musical performance.

A selection of seasonal tunes by the 150 year old band will be performed on board for guests as Caledonian Sleeper rolls past winter scenes during its journey from the bustle of the Big Smoke to the sparkling festive lights of Aberdeen.

The event will be an opportunity for guests of the overnight service to relax and unwind in the comfort of our Lounge Car as they travel up to Scotland’s Granite City. The seasonal brass band spectacular is just one of a series of on board events which highlights the best of Scotland’s cultural offering.

Ryan Flaherty, Guest Experience Director, Caledonian Sleeper said: “Caledonian Sleeper is thrilled to host the Granite City Brass Band on board this week – bringing some festive cheer to our on board experience on the run up to Christmas.

“With a variety of tunes set to be performed and a mouth-watering selection of seasonal local produce available from the Lounge Car, the event is set to be one of our most uplifting yet.”

As Caledonian Sleeper arrives into Aberdeen, guests can enjoy a hearty Caledonian Sleeper breakfast before heading into the city feeling refreshed and ready to start the day.

James Boulton of the Granite City Brass Band said: “We’re really excited about entertaining passengers aboard Caledonian Sleeper as it travels from the bright lights of London to the festivities of Aberdeen and are looking forward to treating guests to our finest tunes.”

The largest-ever Aberdeen Winter Festival is currently in full swing and includes a bustling Christmas village, open-air ice rink, fairground rides and carol concerts.
