Eden Mill provides ‘ideal tonic’ for Caledonian Sleeper Guests Published: Thursday, 18 August 2016 11:33

Caledonian Sleeper guests took a journey through Scottish craft gin making, discovering the secrets behind the art of mixology from St Andrews based Eden Mill.

Taking place in the service’s Lounge Car on Friday 29 July, the latest in a series of on board events showcased the craft distiller’s wide range of gins to guests travelling from London north of the border.

James Willis, event executive, Eden Mill, said: “Caledonian Sleeper aims to use only the finest ingredients and quality local products on board, showcasing the best of Scotland to its guests and helping them to unwind as they travel – we couldn’t imagine a better partner!

“The perfect summer tipple, our hand-crafted gins are made with ethically, locally sourced ingredients and inspired by the creativity of top mixologists from around the world. It was a pleasure to share our passion with guests on-board the Caledonian Sleeper.”

The tasting featured the distiller’s core range of products including ‘Original’, ‘Hop’, ‘Love’ and ‘Oak’, as well as introducing guests to ‘Golf’ - inspired by the botanicals that grow around Scotland’s coastal golf courses, the tasting was followed by a Q&A session with events executives James Willis and Nicole Henderson.

Caledonian Sleeper Guest Experience Director, Ryan Flaherty said of the event: “As far as possible we source locally and celebrate Scotland’s natural larder and, as a local St Andrews supplier, Eden Mill proved an ideal partner for our journey north.

“As the most civilised way to travel between central London and the heart of Scotland, the tasting was an ideal way of helping our guests to unwind in the Lounge Car before enjoying a relaxing night on-board and waking to the majesty of Aberdeenshire.”
