The overnight service is inviting snow lovers of all ages to board the London Euston – Aviemore service to enjoy the world famous Caledonian Sleeper’s hospitality, before enjoying a weekend of late season powder.

From 11-13 March, the service is also welcoming music lovers to the UK’s first resort based snowsports festival, Groove CairnGorm, which will see an international set list of artists perform in the Highland resort of Aviemore.

Famed for its beauty and skiing heritage, Cairngorm Mountain is the UK’s most popular snowsports destination and has been attracting skiers for over 50 years. It has 30km of pisted ski runs, 11 lifts, a fully maintained freestyle park and its new on-site Snow School caters for everyone from beginners to experts – making it ideal for families with varying levels of ability.

Caledonian Sleeper, Guest Experience Director, Ryan Flaherty, said: “We know that making the most of the weekend is important to our guests and with the Caledonian Sleeper, your weekend begins the moment you set foot on board.

“With regular services from the centre of London to the heart of Aviemore, snow lovers and festival goers alike can board the service on Friday night for a weekend break to the slopes and arrive back on Monday morning – refreshed and revitalised by a weekend away.

“We would encourage adventure seekers to escape the stress of airport queues and security and start your weekend in the company of friends over a drink in the lounge car as the world slips by - before an overnight teleport to the Highlands. Guests can even bring their gear free of charge.”

As well as regular snowsports, Groove CairnGorm takes place over the same weekend as the Scottish Freestyle Championships, so expect to see some of the country's top riders grabbing some big air during the day.

Following the snowsports and entertainment each day up on the mountain, there will be après-ski with live music and world class DJs until the early hours on Friday and Saturday in a big top in Aviemore.

Legendary hip-hop DJ Grandmaster Flash and renowned musical tastemakers Hot Chip (DJ set) will headline. Other acts due to appear include The Cuban Brothers, DJ Yoda, Prides, BBC Radio 1/1Xtra‘s underground electronic tastemaker DJ Monki, Eton Messy, Niteworks, Spring Break, The Lafontaines, and The Elephant Sessions.

Sam Barker, insert job title, Groove CairnGorm, said: "We wanted to celebrate our slopes and give snow riders the chance to enjoy a snowsports festival on home snow – that won’t break the bank.

“The Caledonian Sleeper from London to Aviemore is a fantastic way for time strapped festival goers to experience great entertainment and snow conditions at a fraction of the price of an overseas winter sports holiday.

“We’d like to encourage revellers and snow sports fans to take advantage of the regular Caledonian Sleeper services to Aviemore to join us, not just this weekend but for hassle free stays throughout the season.”
