Bus link returns to connect Caledonian Sleeper guests with Oban
Caledonian Sleeper guests will once again be able to enjoy a direct bus connection to Oban – with the link set to run until October.
This marks the third year the overnight rail service has offered the complimentary link between Crianlarich and Oban, with the aim of making it easier for people travelling from London to reach Argyll.
The bus service – which is operated by West Coast Motors and funded by Transport Scotland – is exclusively available to Caledonian Sleeper guests.
Ryan Flaherty, Serco’s Managing Director at Caledonian Sleeper, said: “We are firmly committed to supporting Scotland’s tourist destinations and this bus link provides an easy way for guests travelling from London to reach Oban and beyond.
“Following the success of the service last summer, the decision has been taken to extend the link until almost the end of October, ensuring more people have the opportunity to visit this fantastic part of the world and get there with ease.”
Caledonian Sleeper will also be working in partnership with CalMac Ferries to highlight the islands that can be reached from Oban.
Andrew MacNair, Head of Marketing at CalMac Ferries, said: “CalMac Ferries is delighted to work with Caledonian Sleeper and West Coast Motors again to make it easier for people travelling to and from Oban and the islands we serve get to their end destination.”
The Oban bus service will run at 19:40 on Sundays and at 20:30 Monday to Friday, with a return service from Crianlarich railway station on Monday to Saturday mornings in line with the Caledonian Sleeper timetable.
Guests looking to use the bus service should confirm so when booking their travel with Caledonian Sleeper. For more information or to book a journey, visit www.sleeper.scot.
