Get Out of the Office…And Get Cosy in London

This time of year is always magical. With the spirit of Christmas in the air, twinkling lights above and plenty of opportunity to overindulge, there’s lots to look forward to. But, with the end of the year nearing many are also thinking about how to use up and make the most of those last few remaining days of annual leave.

Transformed from a commuter metropolis to a winter wonderland, London is the place to spend a few days out of the office this December. With many of the city’s bars, restaurants, cafes and stores converted into snugs and hideaways, there are plenty of places to snuggle up with a loved one, enjoy hearty food and get cosy this Christmas.

Lodge d’Argent

Lodge d’Argent located close to Bank has returned for another season, offering guests an après ski experience unlike any other in the city.

Set on a rooftop, visitors can enjoy festive lights and faux fur blankets whilst watching vintage ski clips screened in the ‘ski cube’. The theme extends to the menu which boasts baked Vacherin cheese, Savoyard charcuterie, warm waffles and an Avalanche cocktail.

Ice Skating

A Christmas past time, ice skating is a must at this time of year and London isn’t short for spots to enjoy the activity.

Opt for iconic locations such as the Natural History Museum, The Tower of London or Somerset House for an awe-inspiring view, or get your skates on at the biggest outdoor ice rink in the country at the Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park.

Winterville

Winterville is a festive playround this December. Situated near Clapham Common, visitors can enjoy an ice rink, street food festival, fairground, magic shows and kids’ activities as well as an enchanted labyrinth of twinkling Christmas trees.

The Backyard Cinema pop up offers the chance to cuddle up with blankets and mulled wine or hot chocolate whilst watching family favourites such as Elf or Home Alone.

Dalloway Terrace

For a cosy meal full of great food away from the crowds, head to Dalloway Terrace in Bloomsbury.

Transformed each season, the most recent makeover features crisp winter colours, sheepskin blankets and heaters to keep you toasty whilst dining on a menu of soup, smoked salmon, truffle cheese fondue and pumpkin pie.
